Adventure Waiver & Liability Release

Last Updated: June 6, 2025

Viderth is a platform designed to allow users to share and explore outdoor adventures through video recordings and GPS-tracked routes. Its purpose is to build a living, visual record of real-world outdoor activities — hikes, rides, runs, and other personal journeys — contributed by the community. Viderth is not an official guide, regulatory body, or navigation authority. It is a digital storytelling platform and visual archive, built by and for adventurers.

By using Viderth in any capacity — including browsing, uploading, or acting upon information provided by the site — you acknowledge and accept the following:

1. No Guarantees of Accuracy, Completeness, or Safety

Viderth does not verify or validate the accuracy of any uploaded GPS data, trail information, environmental conditions, or video content. All information on the site is user-generated and may contain errors, omissions, outdated data, or subjective experiences. Trails may be misrepresented. Weather may be different. Terrain may have changed. Roads may be closed. Natural hazards may exist where none were shown.

Use this site with the full understanding that it is an uncurated collection of individual experiences — not a dependable navigation tool or safety resource. Your safety is your own responsibility.

2. Assumption of Risk

Outdoor activities — including but not limited to hiking, biking, climbing, running, and paddling — carry significant risk. These risks include serious injury, dehydration, getting lost, equipment failure, wildlife encounters, and death. By using Viderth to discover or plan any adventure, you voluntarily assume all such risks. You are solely responsible for knowing your limits, checking local regulations, packing appropriate gear, monitoring the weather, and making decisions in the field.

3. Release of Liability

You agree to release, waive, and hold harmless Viderth, its creators, contributors, advisors, affiliates, and hosting providers from any and all liability, claims, damages, demands, or legal action arising out of or related to your use of the site. This includes — but is not limited to — bodily injury, death, property damage, financial loss, or legal consequences resulting from following routes, accessing remote areas, relying on user-submitted content, or misunderstanding any part of this platform.

4. You Are Not Being Guided

No part of Viderth constitutes guided outdoor instruction, navigation services, fitness advice, or certified safety planning. The presence of a route or video on Viderth does not imply it is publicly accessible, safe, legal, or recommended for your use. You must always verify access permissions, local laws, private land boundaries, and current conditions independently.

5. Use of Site Does Not Equal Preparedness

Watching a video, viewing a map, or reading a trail summary does not make you prepared for an activity. Your level of fitness, experience, gear, weather knowledge, and decision-making are far more important. If you act based on content hosted on Viderth without appropriate preparation, you do so at your own risk.

6. Content May Be Incomplete, Misleading, or Outdated

The videos and GPS tracks posted may show only part of a trail or activity. Information may be old, recorded on a different season, or reflect conditions that have since changed. Wildlife, fire damage, flooding, human development, and erosion can all significantly alter the landscape. Do not rely solely on any one post or assume anything about trail difficulty, legality, or safety based on appearance alone.

7. This Waiver Is Ongoing

This waiver applies indefinitely, to all future uses of the site. You agree that your use of the platform at any point — including revisits, link sharing, or embedding content elsewhere — continues to fall under the protection and limitation of liability outlined in this waiver.

8. Final Note

Viderth exists to inspire and inform. It exists to capture what’s real — not to promise you safety or certainty. The world is unpredictable. Nature is indifferent. This site is a tool, not a guarantee. It will never tell you where to go — only show you where someone once went.

By using Viderth, you acknowledge and agree to all of the above.

Community Guidelines

Last Updated: June 6, 2025

Viderth is not a social network in the traditional sense. It is not a place for opinion threads, arguments, memes, reviews, or attention-seeking. Viderth is a living archive of real-world outdoor adventures — clean, informative, and useful.

These guidelines define how we expect users to behave. We’re not trying to create a space full of rules — we’re trying to build something that works for people who want to explore the world, not perform in it.

1. Post Real Adventures

Everything on this platform should be rooted in reality. Uploads must reflect real-world hikes, rides, or other activities recorded with your own GPS and video footage. Fabricated data, misleading videos, or content that exaggerates or fictionalizes outdoor experiences will be removed.

2. No Spam, No Self-Promotion (for Now)

We are not currently allowing product promotions, affiliate links, influencer content, or anything intended to direct traffic elsewhere. The only exception is official business accounts, which will be added in a future release. Until then, keep it clean and personal.

3. Be Respectful

Do not harass, threaten, or stalk other users. If you leave comments, they should be helpful, neutral, and brief. Viderth is not here for arguments, debates, or drama. Treat it like a library — if you can’t contribute constructively, don’t contribute at all.

4. No Offensive or Inappropriate Content

Do not post nudity, hate speech, extremist content, violent footage, or anything illegal. That includes onboard audio with offensive language. We want Viderth to be safe to browse in public and usable by people of all backgrounds.

5. Keep Your Personal Info Private

Do not share phone numbers, email addresses, personal addresses, or private communications. Viderth is not a messaging platform. Keep personal interactions elsewhere.

6. Stay on Mission

The purpose of this platform is to explore outdoor activity through GPS and video. Not through opinions. Not through star ratings. Not through hot takes. If your content doesn’t support that mission, it doesn’t belong here.

7. Reporting Violations

We rely on the community to report content that violates these guidelines. If you see a problem, use the report feature (when available) or email support@viderth.com.

8. One Warning Rule

In most cases, users who violate the guidelines will receive one warning. If the behavior continues, the account may be suspended or banned. Content may be removed without notice.

9. Evolving Rules

These guidelines may evolve over time. As features like commenting, business accounts, and community tools are added, these rules will be updated to match. For now, they exist to preserve clarity and prevent distraction.

By using Viderth, you agree to follow these guidelines. If you don’t, don’t use the platform.
